Medical Microneedling in Edgecliff, Sydney

Jessica's Take:

Microneedling is the treatment I recommend to around 80% of my patients, and here is why. From our mid twenties, collagen production starts declining every single year. Microneedling is how we build it back. But it's not just about collagen induction, it's about texture, redness, pigment. A reminder when looking for a practitioner.. not all microneedling is created equal, and the difference is what you layer onto the skin while needling. That is what takes it from basic to exceptional.

Not all microneedling is created equal

Here is what most people do not realise about microneedling: the needling itself is only half the treatment.

The needles create thousands of controlled micro channels in the skin, triggering your body's repair response and kickstarting collagen production. That alone is valuable. But those open channels are also a delivery system, a brief window where the skin can absorb active ingredients at a depth skincare can never reach.

What we layer into those channels is what separates a basic microneedling treatment from a transformative one. At Jessica Aesthetic Clinic, that ranges from advanced cosmeceutical complexes through to prescription-only medicines, prescribed and tailored to you after a medical consultation.

No two patients get the same treatment, because no two faces need the same thing.

Microneedling is everywhere now. Home rollers, beauty salons, spa menus. What we offer is different, and the difference is medical.

It comes down to several factors. The most important is the prescription, and it is what Jessica's signature layering technique is built on. As a medical clinic, we can layer prescription-only medicines into the skin during treatment, prescribed for your individual skin after a consultation. This is prescription microneedling, and it is simply not available outside a medical setting.

Then there is how the treatment is delivered. Home rollers work at one fixed, superficial depth, and that is their ceiling. In clinic, the depth is altered depending on the indication: acne scarring requires a different depth and treatment approach than fine lines or pigment.

The equipment matters too. We use a medical grade device with a sterile, single use cartridge, and different cartridges carry different numbers of needles for different indications. Compare that to a roller sitting in a bathroom cabinet, reused on the same drum of needles for months.

What we mean by medical microneedling

The Three Tiers

Microneedling with HA + Growth Factors

Microneedling layered with hyaluronic acid and epidermal growth factors to support hydration, renewal and glow. A beautiful all-rounder for dull, dehydrated skin, fine lines and early texture change. Our most popular starting point.

$400 per session

Microneedling with Exosomes + PDRN

Microneedling layered with exosomes and polynucleotides (PDRN), working on a deeper biological level to support skin repair, elasticity and long term resilience. Suited to more established texture concerns, early scarring and skin that needs genuine regeneration rather than just hydration.

$500 per session

Advanced microneedling

Our most advanced protocol, built individually for your skin following a medical consultation. Depending on what your skin needs, this may combine Opuluxe Byrzyn, a Korean regenerative serum pairing PDRN with PLLA for deeper wrinkles and acne scarring, with prescription-only medicine selected and prescribed for you.

This tier is for skin that needs more: stubborn concerns such as deeper wrinkles, larger pores, acne scarring, stretch marks.

Because the protocol is medically prescribed, it is only available following consultation.

Treatment plan

1

Consultation & Skin Assessment

Every microneedling treatment starts with a proper look at your skin and an honest conversation about your goals. Jessica will recommend which tier fits, and exactly what she would layer for your skin. If microneedling is not the right tool for your concern, she will tell you.

2

Course of treatments

Skin regeneration is cumulative. Each session builds on the last, improving hydration, texture, strength and overall skin health, alongside collagen production. For most concerns a course of four treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is recommended. Scarring may benefit from more sessions.

3

Maintenance

Once your course is complete, maintenance treatments every few months keep your skin functioning at its best: hydrated, resilient and regenerating well as it naturally ages. Jessica will guide you on timing.

Treatment costs

Microneedling with HA + Growth Factors: $400 per session

Microneedling with Exosomes + PDRN: $500 per session

Advanced Microneedling: from $650 per session

A course of four treatments is recommended for best results. Book a course together and receive a 20% saving.

Frequently asked questions

1 / Do you offer microneedling in Edgecliff?

Yes. Medical microneedling is offered at Jessica Aesthetic Clinic in Edgecliff, Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, following a complimentary consultation.

2 / How is microneedling different from skin needling?

It's not! Microneedling, skin needling, dermal needling and collagen induction therapy are all names for the same treatment. What actually varies is how it is performed: the device, the depth, and most importantly, what is layered into the skin during treatment. That is where the differences between clinics really lie.

3 / Do you offer RF microneedling?

Not currently. RF (radiofrequency) microneedling is a different device that delivers heat energy through the needles into the deeper skin, primarily aimed at tightening. It has its place, but our focus is regenerative microneedling: using the needles as a delivery system for actives your skin cannot otherwise access, from growth factors through to prescription-only medicines. If we think RF or another treatment would genuinely serve you better, we will tell you in consultation.

4 / What do you layer onto the skin?

It depends entirely on your skin. Options range from hyaluronic acid and epidermal growth factors, through exosomes and PDRN, up to Opuluxe Byrzyn with PLLA and prescription-only medicines available after medical consultation. This is exactly what we work out together in your consultation.

5 / Does it hurt?

Numbing cream can be applied before every treatment, and most clients describe the sensation as a light scratching rather than pain.

6 / What is the downtime?

Expect your skin to look and feel sunburnt for 24 to 48 hours, with some pinpoint redness and light flaking/dryness and texture changes possible over the following days. Most people are back to normal skincare routine after 5 days.

7 / How many treatments will I need?

Start to think of regenerative treatments as maintenance for your skin. They're not one treatment wonders. Most concerns respond best to a course of four, spaced 4 weeks apart. Regeneration takes weeks and months, not days, and that is exactly why the results look natural. Texture and glow improve first, with firmness and scarring improving progressively over your course.

8 / Which tier should I choose?

That is what the consultation is for. As a rough guide: HA and growth factors for hydration and glow, exosomes and PDRN for repair and texture, and Advanced for deeper wrinkles, scarring and skin that needs the strongest regenerative response we can offer.

9 / When can I return to normal activities?

Most clients return to normal activities within 12-24 hours. We recommend avoiding intense exercise, alcohol, swimming and heat exposure for 24 to 48 hours after treatment.

10 / Can microneedling be combined with other treatments?

Yes, and it often anchors a broader skin plan alongside anti-wrinkle treatments, Rejuran, Profhilo and skin boosters. Jessica will only ever recommend what your skin genuinely needs.

Regenerative Skin Treatments

Your collagen is declining every year. That is not fear mongering, it is biology.

Microneedling is one of the most reliable ways to build it back, and done properly, with the right actives layered for your skin, it is one of the best long term investments you can make in your face. Not a quick fix. A foundation.

Not sure which tier is right for you? That is exactly what the consultation is for. Complimentary. No pressure.
